An Essential, Yet Largely Unrecognized Workforce
Direct Care Workers (DCWs) provide supports and services to older and disabled adults in a variety of settings such as group homes, assisted living, and private homes. They assist with activities like bathing, dressing and meal preparation.
Despite being highly skilled and delivering crucial services, DCWs are often marginalized with low wages and few if any benefits.
